Jedan od najistaknutijih hrvatskih kazališnih, filmskih i televizijskih glumaca Ljubomir Kerekeš, u srijedu, 23. lipnja, u dvorani Varaždinske županije u Varaždinu primio je Veliku zlatnu plaketu- Da se ne zaboravi, koju mu je dodijelila Udruga hrvatskih branitelja Domovinskoga rata91. (UHBDR91.) u suradnji s drugim Udrugama proizašlim iz Domovinskog rata.
Priznanje mu je uručio Mladen Pavković, predsjednik UHBDR91., koji je uz ostalo naglasio da je riječ i o čovjeku koji je odigrao i brojne predstave, prije svega za invalide Domovinskog rata i koji uvijek kad može pomaže u nevolji, a od prvih dana se zalagao za slobodnu, samostalnu i neovisnu hrvatsku državu, dok je Jasna Jakovljević, intendantica HNK u Varaždinu predstavila njegov 40. godišnji umjetnički put.
Kerekeš je pak rekao da je dosad dobio brojna priznanja i nagrade, ali da mu je ova najdraža, jer dolazi od ljudi koji su uistinu bili – prvi kad je trebalo.
Na ovom priznanju, ovom velikom umjetniku, čestitali su: Tomo Medved, ministar hrvatskih branitelja, predsjednik RH Zoran Milanović, varaždinski biskup Bože Radoš, Varaždinski župan Anđelko Stričak i brojni drugi, dok su u programu sudjelovali i Ivica Dolenec, predsjednik UHBDDR, glazbenik Mirko Švenda Žiga….
